The Zone Ministry is the primary instrument used to ensure members are connected and efforts are channeled for Kingdom building. The Pastor of First Mount Zion Baptist Church is ultimately responsible for member care, and utilizes the Deacon and Deaconess Ministries as an extension to ensure care of the congregation.

The mission of the Zone Ministry is to build and strengthen caring relationships, to nurture spiritual development, and to encourage every member to remain faithful to God and committed to the work of His Church. This journey is accomplished by church leaders providing members an opportunity to take an active role in church residential sub-communities called zones, which are designed to help encourage every member to fully cooperate, work, and fellowship together as one body in Christ.
